General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi & Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concern.
Zerofat is initially given for 3 months with the aim of reducing 5% of your weight.

Zerofat (Orlistat) a gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor that acts by inhibiting the absorption of dietary fats from the intestines thus stops weight gain, reduce weight in patients with hormonal diseases like hypothyroidism, patients with high cholesterol, etc.

Initially it is prescribed for 3 months with the aim of reducing the body weight by 5% and treatment is reviewed regularly. If you continue to lose weight after 6 months, your doctor may advise that you continue to take Zerofat may be for up to 1-2 years, or longer if you have a great deal of weight to lose.

Hope these answers your query.
A feedback is appreciated.
