How Long Does Mucinex Take To Reduce Pain In Head And Ears?

I have full ears still and some head pain after dealing with a sinus infection. I ve been on mucinex and this is the second week approaching that I ve been dealing with these symptoms and was wondering how long it would take for this to subside because it is starting to bother me. I ve never had a history of any these infections and they dont run in my family, so any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that fullness in ears and headache with a recent history of sinus infection seems to be due to fluid behind the ear drum leading to ear fullness and headache is due to lingering sinus infection only..
Only Mucinex will not resolve the symptoms and I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do warm compresses around nostrils..
