How Effective Is Naproxen For Headaches And Tension In Neck?
Hi I was prescribed yesterday naproxen 250mg twice a day for headache , and tension in my neck . Helped with headache . Have now gone down with a cold , sore throat , slight cough . Chest feels quite tight and back aches quite a bit . Have taken one tablet this morning . As day has gone on am feeling worse . Don't know weather to take another one or not , can you help
Hello Naproxen is analgesic-antipyretic and antiinflammatory activities and better tolerated . But , as you mentioned that you are having cold, sore throat , slight cough , chest congestion ( feeling tight) and back ache . However , as mentioned above it will provide you relief in pain ( like back ache or sore throat ) but this is not a curative treatment . In such cases the best way is to consult an ENT and get his consultation . When such case visit I prescribe them to take levofloxacin 10 mg / kg per day for 5 days along some cough syrup ( bronchodilator type ). So consult your EN T and take treatment . Hot coffee and steam inhalation may be useful for you for short term. Good luck.
