How Can Viral Bronchitis Be Treated?

i am a 49 y.o male. jan 10 I was diagnosed with Bronchitis. I went to a minute clinic - she said it was viral. I have had bronchitis every winter/fall since childhood. I asked if she would give a z pack - she declined - gave me a different antibotic - and an inhaler. Feb 01 - The antibotic had not kicked it - went to a 2nd minute clinic - she gave me a z pak - she was confused why i had not been given it the first round. I took the z pak and I have felt better - there is a lingering couch though slight- Mon I went to bed - seemingly fine. I Woke tues morning to find my whole chest covered in pink bumps. Some with small red caps. I had a fever on tues night. I had Chicken Pox at age five and feel very much this is adult chicken pox. The bumps to not really itch. I have been applying Calamine lotion and the bumps are seeming to fade. I have read if it is Chicken Pox it may need five to ten days to run its course. The bumps have spread to my back as well - none on my face or legs. Some have suggested its the after math of strep - though was never diagnosed for strep. Some think it may be a rash (no change in colognes detergents etc) Some say an allergic reaction to the meds. though i have used them all according to their labels, and last - some suggest Shingles - Though by all accounts it LOOKS like Chicken Pox. Yes i plan to try to see a dr on Mon but also seeking advice between now and then - Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Chickenpox is happening to anyone once a life time because as it occurs we develop life time immunity against it, so do not worry.

Other hand varicella infection is a dormant viral which infect when our immunity goes down and it is appear on the one half of the body and never cross other side and very severe burning pain with rashes.

What you got is allergic reaction which will resolve by stopping that medication and using calamine lotion and antihistaminic drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
