How Can Typhoid Fever Be Treated While Suffering From Diabetes?
hi i have a question here, my husband is diabetic type 2 and diagnosed with typhoid fever , he had widal test on 17th feb but doctor didn t gave any treatment for typhiod. Again 0n 4th march he had fever so he went again with reports to another doctor and he said that levels show thyphiod fever and prescribed norflaxicin for 10 days and blood test. no w irequest you to advise what type of care i need to take. can you give suggestion on type of treatment and diet
Treatment of typhoid fever is no different in diabetics.
If the diagnosis has been made then your husband should take Ofloxacin. He should take Acetaminophen if his fever goes beyond 100.
He should be given a bland diet as his digestion will not be optimum while he has been suffering from typhoid.
You should talk to his primary care physician if his blood sugar shoots. He should take plenty of rest and should drink plenty of water. He should continue his diabetic medicines as usual.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prabhash Verma,
