How Can Tonsils Be Removed?

I have a peritonsillar abscess, I went to the doctor today for it and I am on antibiotics. I just looked at my throat in the mirror and a piece of my tonsil is literally hanging off. Should I try and remove it or let it fall on its own & Should I be concerned?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your tonsillitis and peritonsillar abscess.

You need to visit a doctor for its drainage or weigh for it burst of its own.

There is no need to worry that much as you are under the antibiotic cover. Take antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor, it will get drained of by its own, you may also get is drained by ENT spacialist as there are associated blood vessels which may get damaged if you try by yourself.

Hope my answer will help you and you can write back to us if you feel any further assistance required.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
