How Can The Side Effects Of Phenazopyridine Be Managed?

Hello doctor. My name is Siddhant. My mother went to the doctor, where her doctor thought that she have kidney problem so he gave her a medicine containing Phenazopyridine. But she dont have kidney problem, so now she is facing its side effects, like headache and fever. So what should we do at home or wwe should take her to the doctor? Thank you!

Phenazopyridine exerts topical analgesic effect on urinary tract mucosa. Since it is only a supportive drug and not a core drug for UTI, it can be stopped, in view of side effects (headache, fever etc). On withdrawal of the drug, side effects also will wane.
