How Can The Side Effects Of Effient Be Managed?

I have been taking effient since April and I am exhibiting some of it s side effects, the slight dizziness, lower back pain, high blood pressure which I already had, always feeling tired, and I don t like it. I recently developed a stomach virus and did not eat any solid food for 3 days nor did I take any of my medications and when the virus passed I felt better than I ve had in several months. As soon as I started back on the effient the side effects came back. what can I do to alleviate them without taking more medication. I am 69 years old and I lead an active life.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Do not stop taking the drug suddenly as this increases the risk of blood clots, heart attack, and death. If you need to stop taking the drug due to side effects problems, your doctor should monitor you for any blood clots.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
