Hi I am 32 pretty sporty and in good general health. 6 days ago I took a really heavy blow to my left shin, mid-shaft by a blunt object (mechanical rodeo bull head-butted me as I fell off it!) It really swelled up but after a couple of days the swelling reduced to a more localised, soft bump. The bump is bright purple and the rest of my shin right down to my foot is now a a rainbow of wonderful colour. It hurts a fair bit and throbs all the time. I can walk on it ok but its sore (no less sore than it was a week ago) Do I need an x-ray? Anything else I should do?
