How Can Stiffness And Tenderness On Hammer Toes Be Treated?

I have had hammer toes, etc in both my feet for many years. I had unsuccessful surgery on the right f00t many years ago, Have had redness, stiffness, tenderness in those five toes since that surgery. Now I have the same problems on the left foot and am very uncomfortable, with same symptoms. I am already on Neurotin to ease the pain and discomfort with no relief. IS there any cream, oil or treatment that I can use to ease the discomfort. I am scheduled for surgery soon on the right foot as I can hardly wear shoes. I would like to go into the surgery with some relief from the current symptons.

Hi,

It might be due to contusion or sprain in the toes.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
