How Can Sinusitis Be Treated?

I am having sinus problems. About 2-3 weeks ago, I had some issues with my sinuses (congestion, sinus pressure, fullness to the left ear, coughing, sneezing). I got off work on Wednesday with no sinus issues. When I woke up, my nose was stopped up on one side. It gradually became congested in both nares. I also began to have fullness in my left ear. It seems that every time that I have issues with my sinuses, I get fluid behind my left ear only. Should I be evaluated by an ENT physician? And also, could this be allergy related?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain congestion in nose along with blocked ear can be due to Sinus infection or Sinusitis leading to post nasal drip and as the throat and nose are connected via Eustachian tubes..
It can also be secondary to unknown allergen..
Consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like sinus x ray and blood test to check for allergies will help in ruling out the exact cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case of sinus infection a course of antibiotics, decongestant nasal spray like Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline, saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and using a humidifier can help..

In case of allergies anti allergics like Levocetrizine and steroid nasal sprays can help..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
