Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I may have shingles on my elbow (Right). Today I notice a rash starting on my Left elbow. My reading tell me that it is usually on one side of the body only. I started Lyrica and Gabapentin within the last month. That is the only thing different I can think of that I ve done. Thank you for your info and time.
You say that you may have shingles on your elbow. It would be preferable to have a photo of the rash on your elbows to determine if it is shingles or not.
Lyrica and gabapectin can help with pain, especially if your doctor prescribed to you.
If shingles is confirmed, a more specific regimen is recommended: - take more rest - have plenty of fluids - your doctor might prescribe anti-viral medication like acyclovir orally - apply acyclovir cream on the lesion.
Once again, first get examined by your physician to determine if this is shingles or not. Then, start the specific treatment. Can discuss it further with your physician too.
Wish fast recovery.
