How Can Severe Depression Be Treated While Not Having Insurance To Get A Prescription?

I am very depressed and looking to get a prescription for prozac which I took many years ago for about 6 months and it really helped. I do not have insurance so I would be paying cash and hoping I don t have to spend hundreds of dollars to basically get a prescription. Is there anything you can recommend?

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Presently, you're again suffering from depression. We label your problems as recurrent depressive disorder. Each episode starts with stressor and episode lasts for 6-8 months. In my opinion, it's better to start antidepressant like Easitalopram or Floxetine (Prozac) and use continuously for 6-8 months.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
