How Can Poor Hair Growth Be Treated?

I have decreased hair growth and dry skin along with slow nail growth. I am a female fifty eight year old. I have been taking iron supplements for the past three months for iron deficiency but still tire easily, have restless leg and night cramps. Any thoughts?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Check your serum B12 level and electrolyte level like potassium and calcium.

If your iron deficiency anemia not improving with oral iron supplements than injectable course might needed.

Rule out underlying cause for iron deficiency anemia like parasite infestation by stool routine micro examination. Consult physician for examination and accordingly get investigated if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
