How Can Pain In The Hips And Legs Be Treated?

I have pain in my hip and along the leg part. My Dr. said I have bursitis in my hip. The pain I have is on my right side. It starts with the lower back and the hip starts paining me along the side of my leg also. Is this part of a sciatic nerve pain I tried aleve and that seems to help for most of the day. When I get up in he morning thats when it all starts again and I have a hard time walking until the medicine kicks in.. Is this permanent or does it go away,

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and since you are an examined and diagnosed case thus following is my opinion:

1. Consult an Orthopedic surgeon to differentiate whether it is noninfectious [treated with rest, ice, and simple pain medications] or infectious bursitis [treated with antibiotics, aspiration, and surgery].

2. Get a second opinion regarding hip discomfort/pain since it could be because of hip osteoarthritis, AVN [avascular necrosis], DVT [deep vein thrombosis], PVD [peripheral vascular disorder] or simply because of cramps in calf [due to diabetes, calcium/salt deficiency]

PS. The symptoms have to be carefully assessed by your doctor to ensure that whether it requires immediate medical attention or long-term therapy.
