How Can Pain In The Achilles Tendon Be Managed?

I was ice skating and pushed off with my right foot and felt a painful twinge in my Achilles tendon. The pain did not go away. I removed my skate and the tendon is sore to the touch and bruised. I have not skated in a long time but walk several miles a day.

Hello,

Maybe, there is tendon Achilles tear which could be minor also. You do not have to worry about this condition as it will heal on its own. But try to give rest to that part for some time.

If you have pain, you can use painkillers like Paracetamol, Tramadol, and Pethidine etcetera. All this can give you temporary relief, but you need to rest your limb for some time to heal. Afterward slowly do physiotherapy to use the limb.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
