How Can Pain Behind The Ear Be Treated?

I got stung by a yellow jacket yesterday on the left front part of my scalp about an inch or so above my forehead. Today it seems to be a vain that goes down the left side of my head that is really swollen, a knot behind my left ear and a lot of pain on the left side of my head and behind my left ear.

Hi,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern. As these bugs have strong acid content in their sting there is a lot of information towards it.

The sharp pain is because of least connective tissue between scalp and bones.

You must apply cold ucr packs on the site of the sting or swollen area.
Take anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen for pain relief and swelling management. This type of sting heals with in 2-3 days but in case it persists or allergic reaction is too deteriorating visit an emergency room.

Hope my answer will help you.
Regards.
Dr Muzaffar.
