Painful to make any facial movements. Pain severe... have taken Ibuprofen...three at 6pm and another 2 at almost 10pm. Pain still severe.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have symptoms of cervical spondylosis flare up.
At the acute phase; rest, ice pack/hot fomentation, muscle relaxant spray, over the counter non steroidal anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen , steroid onjection would help in controlling pain.
After that investigations to know level & degree of vertebral/disc problem ( MRI/CT scan ) followed by specific physical/physiotherapy ,calcium, vitamin D, B12 supplement s along with healthy life style
* pain medicine as per need would help.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
