How Can Nasal Congestion Be Treated?

O.K. I am currently using fluticasone propionate nasal spray to treat my nasal congestion,also taking mucinax to help relieve sinus congestion,runny nose and coughing,I have been taking the mucinax for approx.five days,the other thing aprox.two days,any relief in sight ? Thank you

Hello,

It looks like you had a cold that has progressed into sinus infection or sinusitis. If this is the case then taking Mucinex alone is not enough and you need to consult a physician and get evaluated so that an appropriate antibiotic can be advised. If required a PNS view x-ray of the sinus can be done. You can be advised antibiotics like Amox-Clav and along with it, decongestant nasal spray like Oxymetazoline can be advised. Also, continue Mucinex and do steam inhalation and saline nasal irrigation. Sip on warm water.
