How Can Jaw And Ear Pain With Numbness Be Treated?

On July 21 I had a tooth removed #31 in which they had to shave the jaw bone down. I have had severe pain ever since. I went back to them they refered me to an oral surgeon. They cleaned out the wound and packed it. But I still have swelling in my jaw and my right ear is very painful. I have numbness on the right side of my face, severe headache feels like someone is squeezing my brain. I feel lathargic and the pain is still 9 and 10.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the query,

I would suggest you to take an IOPA radiograph of the region, there could e a chence of any broken root particle left in the socket causing infection, if present it could be easily removed by the Oral Surgeon, at home take tab almoxiclav and tab aceclofenac serratiopeptidase BD , tab omee BD for 3-5 days.
At home take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Take care!

Thanks for using Health Care Magic.

Read your query.

The date mentioned in the query is not relevant.

The signs and symptoms described suggests the presence of infection in the tooth socket .

I would advice you to continue with the antibiotics like Amoxicillin 500 mg and metrolag 400 mg thrice a day with prescription from your dentist ( if you do not have any allergies to the medicines).

For pain continue with ibuprofen as and when required.Do warm saline gargling.
Avoid vigorous gargling and applying hot bag externally.

The numbness in the face can be be caused of prolonged anaesthesia which will take its own time to reduce ( heals with time ).

Visit your dentist and get it rechecked.

Hope this was useful.

Thanks and regards.
