How Can Itchy Rashes On The Body Be Treated?

yes maybe My friend has a terrible dry rash all over his body. He complains of burning, itching and I have noticed that at times he has large round raised areas. He was involved in a motorcycle accident last March and it has been a very difficult recovery. But this itching ad burning is making him a nervous wreck. He has told his doctors but unfortunately they offer no help. He visited our locale emergency room last Friday where they gave him he told me 4 im injections he doesn't know but on the new medicine I did notice Atarax. He has been taking Benadryl and using anti itching gel and lotion I don't know how to help him and the next appointment he can be seen at hospital is 10:45 pm tonight. A few months ago he had something simular to this and they discovered that the metal used in surgery was the cause, But this he is having to deal with has been going on for a month at least. Any suggestions no changes in soap, laundry detergents or anything of that nature.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern. It looks like an allergic reaction due to a certain type of allergen. Some advice that I can give to you are:

1) Take antihistamines like Cetirizine 10 mg once daily.
2) Take corticosteroids with prescription if you don't get better.
3) Stay in a cool room.
4) Take cold showers.

Hope my answer was helpful. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
