How Can Itching And Burning Sensation In The Vagina Be Treated?

Used monistat and it burned quite a bit right after and also had to urinate many times as well...is there anything else I can do for vaginal itching and burning which I assumed was a yeast infection. I was on a strong antibiotic a week ago for bronchitis. I’m 77 years old

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Apply Clotrimazole powder after taking shower in the morning as well as evening for 4 to 5 days. Do not apply inside vagina, maintain proper hygiene and take tablet Levocetirizine 12 hourly for itching.

I assume that there is no discharge from vagina, right? If possible get an appointment with gynecologist to rule out any other causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
