Hai Doctor, I have very irregular periods from my menstral time. It might take 2 months to 6 months sometimes. Even when the period starts heavy bleeding happens and also for a long time. Almost 2 years back it used to bleed nearly for 25 months. Then doctor suggested me to have trapic mf 2 times a day from 3rd day. But a relative of mine who is a pharmacist asked me not to, as it nit that good to take at the age of 19. Later i stopped using and it would take nearly upto 15 days with a gap of 2 months. But this time bleeding did not stop even for 25 days. What do i do?? Please suggest me doctor..
Hi, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. From your description, it appears that you are experiencing metropathic cycles, usually seen in association with hormone imbalance states, most common being polycystic ovaries. You need proper clinical evaluation, hormone assays, sonogram of the pelvis, blood counts and urinalysis. At present, your bleeding needs to be arrested by using styptics and if necessary, a short course of hormones. Weight and lifestyle management along with nutritional supplements are very useful. Appropriate management can be planned after investigation. Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
