How Can I Reduce My Cholesterol Level?

I have a fasting cholesterol of 6.8. Do not drink, smoke or eat meat, eat lots of fish, drink soya milk and eat plenty of salads. My mother had high cholesterol and died from heart disease at aged 57. I am 53 could this be inherited and how do I lower this. Many thanks.

you have to follow my prescription strictly as lowering cholesterol level can be achieved by regular exercise and prudent diet plan then one should consider for medications. so here it is
1. brisk walking 30 min daily
2. diet- olive oil 3tsp max (daily no other oil) monthly oil consumption3. lots of vegetables soyabeans salads
4. non veg- avoid red meat, only sea fish & small fish should be taken that only for twice weekly
Thats all for your side.
now for medication
take tab. atorlip 40mg after food at night once daily for two month
get your lipid profile done monthly.
i hope thats sufficient to lower your cholesterol level...
