Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you might need to use Levothyroxin life long or at least foremost of the period though managing low thyroid levels is easier and associated with lesser side effects than high thyroid levels.
You just need to make sure to follow up fresh levels every three months and to titrate the dose accordingly and keep close liason with the treating physician to avoid over treating the condition.
You can lead a normal life with thyroid levels in control. But you may also need to use supplements for calcium and vitamin D3 off and on alongside rest of the management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
