How Can High Blood Pressure And Anxiety Be Treated?

Hi, I am 80 years old. Taking aspirin, atenelol, lisinopril, lovastatin. Had CABG triple bypass 20 years ago. Moving around a lot, has made it tough, because I need to get a new doctor every couple of years and tend to be overdosed with BP pressure drugs, once up to five drugs. Each new doc just adds more drugs. My BP averages from 130 to 160, and has been diagnosed as labile. Pulse is usually around 60. I am sure the elevation is caused by ADHD, trama and drama from birth. Just wondering if there is a drug that focuses on lowering anxiety to accomplish BP lowering. Frustrated because BP metrics are complied by statistics and not individual cases....

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

130 to 160 is an acceptable range in your age group.
If the blood pressure persistently clicks above 150, additional anti hypertensives might be started.
Anxiety and stress can also cause elevated blood pressure.
Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
You might require anti-anxiety drugs like clonozepam.
Consult a physician and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
