How Can Heavy Menstrual Bleeding While Hypothyroidism Be Treated?

doctor I have been having hypothyroid since many years since three months I have been having very heavy periods with lots of bleeding and periods come about twice in a month. To ease the flow doctors gave me some tablets and regestrone 5 mg to be taken for 21 days. But this cycle was bad the flow was very very heavy for two days. Haven t started anything for thyroid as I have Hoshimotos thyroiditis.pl can you suggest something to regularise my problems and to regularise my cycle as soon as possible as doctors say this is a case of heavy hormonal imbalance

Hi,

I think first of all you should take Levothyroxine to regulate the thyroid hormone balance. This will make your menstrual cycles more regular and will make bleeding less severe. You also can use progesterone like hormones to low the bleeding amount.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
