General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The soup, bananas and other fluids can be continued.

In terms of oral intake, she needs mainly to continue fluids, her appetite for solid food will improve as the symptoms start to resolve. Liquids should be cool or cold to help reduce body temperature.

Paracetamol/Tylenol medicine can be used for the aches and pains; it would also help the fever. Even when she has chills, it is important to remember not to bundle up. Chills are associated with fever, if she bundles up, will increase the temperature further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
