General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cerebellar atrophy usually does not affect the life expectancy of a person. however, the condition has marked effect on the quality of life depending on the extent of atrophy. Some individuals learn to lead normal work, social and recreational fife while others having difficulty doing so. Physical and occupational therapy can greatly improve the quality of life.

Dr. Lekshmi
