How Can Eczema And Psoriasis On The Arms Be Treated?

I have had ecsema the oncologist and I seem to believe comes from the use of chemo pills I have been taken for the past couple of years. Recently it appears I have a spot of psoriasis on my arm below the elbow. It is scaly with a red rash on the side of the scaling. Have been taken off chemo pills for three weeks now and there is no change. Do you have any advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Eczema and psoriasis are a common dermatological condition. They can be managed pretty well if it's that limited as you said. Generally, dermatologists advise some skin oiling creams like petroleum jelly.

Some topical steroids and these respond very well to it. However, most of the times are not problematic. However, it's always diagnosed when seen. So you can talk to your family physician he even can manage it and if any doubt he would refer you to a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
