How Can Ear Congestion Be Treated?

I have been fighting a cold virus for at least 3 weeks. I finally filled a script for Amoxicillin and got relief for a while. A day with a cat really kicked my symptoms up and now my ears are plugged and one actually aches pretty bad. Cough has susided. Is there an otc product that you could recommend? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that since you have already taken an antibiotic course most likely this flare up is because of an allergic reaction. As you have mentioned that it aggravated after coming in contact with the cat, it may be the cause. I would advise you take an over the counter antihistamine like levocetrizine 10 mg twice daily for three days. If the symptoms persist get your self checked by a physician. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
I find this answer helpful
