How Can Discomfort And Tenderness On The Knee Be Treated?

48 years old and I was asking for it. While coaching 8th grade basketball, I lunged, felt a pop, and now back side of my right calf is solid as a rock and tender. Hard to put weight on it. I can raise my leg without discomfort, but straighten it or put weight on it is like fire.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As this indicates the ligament injury. It can be a sprain or graded Injury. Having an MRI is always good to have the anatomical view of the internal structures of the knee.

Hot water fermentation with exercise for stabilizing the knee and range of motion exercises are advised. Post 4 weeks of exercise for stabilization and strengthening balance board training is used for another 4 weeks to correct the muscle imbalances and improve good stability.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
