How Can Diarrhea In A Toddler Be Treated?

My kid age 3and half yrs, having losse motion and 5daysback.got cured in 2days,but cough started and blocking nose too. Doctor gave levolin not worked, then benadryl, it s also not working.. He told it s dry cough, sometimes sneezing too. What syrup shall I give, shall I give relent. Or it s because of hit in stomach, because she was not eating .plz suggest

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query your toddler having symptoms of diarrhea which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance, improper metabolism and could be gastroenteritis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give child plenty of fluids and diet rich in fibres. Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test and may prescribe laxative, ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine. Give child light and non spicy food to eat and keep your head elevated while lying down. You should avoid intake of outside food.
