Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mom has dementia and there seems to be little we can do to get her to eat. she is 83 and weighs about 78 lbs, my sister and i are taking her for her yearly checkup tomorrow. this has been going on for 4 to 5 years. what should i ask the dr tomorrow?.
I would recommend that you take her to her primary care provider or neurologist. She needs to be started on drugs that slower the progress of dementia and in general reduce the challenging behavior of dementia patients.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saralkumar R. Desai, General & Family Physician
