How Can Cold And Numb Fingers Of The Hands Be Treated?

My hands are frequently cold (both hands but mostly the right). Often, I will wake up in the morning and my hands feel as though the are asleep . This sensation is predominantly in my right hand. When I say hand it is predominantly my fingers. This is also occurring during the days. It is not continuous throughout the day. It comes and goes. When it occurs however, I loose some sensation in my fingers. Terry

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The numbness of hands on both sides when you get up in morning suggests some awkward sleeping posture causing pressure on arms and hands and also cervical spondylitis causing pressure on nerve roots at spinal, local nerves.

Please get MRI of the cervical spine done to know basic pathology followed specific treatment (medicines, steroid injection, physiotherapy or surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
