Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [pulmonologist] and do few investigations to confirm it [CBC with differential, Chest x-ray, sputum culture, Pulse oximetry, Pleural fluid culture and CT scan].

2) Do take exact antibiotics as per culture report only, and discuss with your Doctor about [paracetamol] for fever and a cough syrup.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Get vaccinated. Vaccines are available to prevent some types of pneumonia and the flu. Talk with your doctor about getting these shots.

2) Practice good hygiene. To protect yourself against respiratory infections that sometimes lead to pneumonia, wash your hands regularly or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

3) Try to avoid smoking for adult persons.

4) Get enough sleep, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet to keep the immune system strong.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
