How Can Chronic Joint Ache Be Treated?

I have chronic joint pain. The only Rx that seems to help is prednisone. I ve done bursts, that I taper off. I ve asked about a daily dose that would be safe to take. But my doctor is so reluctant to prescribe it. Is there a safe daily dose to take ?

hello,
there is no safe daily dose a steroid like prednisolone. first we need to diagnose the type of arthritis you have by a doing a few tests like rheumatoid factor, anti ccp, tests for auto antibodies like ANA
long term steroid usage lead to heart issues, osteoporosis. they should be used only if utmost necessary like in auto immune conditions.
your doctor is right in not prescribing a daily dose of prednisolone.
hope i have answered your query. wish you a speedy recovery
