Does Lipitor Cause Joint Ache?

Hello, my name is Alice, I am new to Lipitor, I am a new 51yo female, had a hemi stroke 10.22.17, no history of diabetes, high blood pressure and according to my lab my cholesterol was 210. I had been on a different statin in which I had major body aches and pains and dr had prescribed numerous amounts of different brain meds that I refuse to take as I am not a pill taking individual . I am recovering from my stroke and functioning well, amazingly well according to my therapists..in any case, I have new joint symptoms and am not sure if it is from the Lipitor or the stroke...thought I would look here to find some answers...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Lipitor does not cause joint pain. Instead the medicines that you were using before do, so it is good that your doctor changed them. I also cannot say that you are having the joint pain from the stroke, as it may be from many other causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
