How Can Chronic Cough In An Infant Be Treated?

Hi doctor im from a village area my daughter is 7 month old she suffering from caugh last week according to my phc doctor i used soventus syrup in about 2ml thrice a day from last 5 days but my baby dosn t stop coughing now .how can my babi to stop coughing

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, she needs to be evaluated by a pediatrician as such chronic cough in an infant is not something to be ignored as pneumonia or lung infections need to be ruled out which are very dangerous in this age group. A chest X-ray may be needed. Chest examination and if allergic may need Terbutaline syrup and steam inhalations.
