How Can Breast Cancer Be Treated?

In 2011 I found out that I had breast cancer. I had a mastectomy, chemo, radiation and hormone therapy. Still taking anastrozole. I had a mammogram this past week on the opposite breast. They found some micro calcification sand have scheduled me for more mammogram images and I think they are also going to do an ultrasound at the same time but not sure. Could my cancer have spread to the other breast? I forgot to mention that they found cancer in my lymph nodes in 2011. Is this cause to be concerned?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I had gone through your question I can understand your. Normally it is very likely that the tumor may spread to the concerned draining lymph nodes and also to to other organs too like thyroid liver or lung etc but hardly or rarely there is metastasis to other barest but too after six years.

It can also be the second primary lesion, because there are chances of malignancy post to chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

So it is first not even confirmed what the lesion is may be cyst or calcified other tissue too. It can be the new malignant lesion or rarely possible recurrent previous lesion too. Get a scan done to confirm if any problem is there.

I hope you will be healthy.
Regards
Dr Muzaffar
