How Can An Inflamed Left Occipital Lymph Node Be Treated?

My daughter has had an inflamed left occipital lymph node for over 5 weeks, Saturday started crying that her legs hurt, has been doing so since along with a headache. She is only 2. She was refusing to walk bc she would cry. Not tender to massage. Low lymphocytes and low monocytes with elevated ESR. Doc says viral but I m debating on getting second opinion. She seems better today and is playing ok. But swollen lymph node is still there and when she does start crying it s usually out of no where after playing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Presence of constitutional symptoms as fever, appetite changes, any weight alteration are important considerations needed here to co relate.

If adequate antibiotic therapy is provided and the lymph node persists at 5 weeks then FNAC or excision biopsy need may be discussed with the treating physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
