How Can Allergic Skin Reaction Be Treated?

Gud morning I have done my Ivf treatment in 1 week before I Have taken inj gestone 1 week . after that I Have got problem whole body allergies and inching and rashes . My Dr. Advised me stop inj gestone. She has give me inj hydrocortisone. Now again I have got same problem. so can I take same inj hydrocortisone.

Hi,

If you are having a severe allergic reaction then you can repeat the hydrocortisone injection 100mg provided you are not diabetic. I suggest you also take a promethazine injection if there are no contraindications. This will also alleviate the itching you are experiencing.

You can also apply a topical steroid eg betamethasone diluted in some emolient cream such as Epizone, E45 or Barrs emolient. Add on a non sedating antihistamine like cetirizine 10mg at night until the symptoms resolve.

I suggest you consider using an alternative to gestone, please discuss treatment options with your doctor. Get well soon.
