How Can A Skin Scratch In The Vagina Be Treated?
Hi, while i was wiping after urinating my finger accidentally slipped through the toilet paper and I scratched the inside of my vagina . I felt pain right away and now when i urinate I feel pain and burning. I am concerned about infection. What should I do, I am on period to. Thanks, Rochelle

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
It appears from your description that you might have injured inside vagina with mucosal abrasion.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area with mild antiseptic solution like Povidine-Iodine solution twice daily.
2. After drying, apply Neomycin cream over the affected area.
3. Apply moisturizer cream to keep the surface moist at bedtime.
4. Avoid friction in the region by wearing loose fitting undergarments, preferably made of cotton.
Avoid wearing tight clothing.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Maintain good personal hygiene. Gradually, you should be able to overcome it and be back to normal.

Mam the scratch at the external genitalia must be taken care of to prevent fungal infection
For the same following must be done
1. Avoid sexual activity till the lesion heals
2. Cold compress over the area may benefit
3. Wear lose fitting clothes
4. Gels like Aloe Vera may be beneficial
5. Look for any symptoms of infection like fever, bleeding and increase in the intensity of pain and incase of the same do contact the gynaecologist to look for infection
