How Can A Skin Burn On The Finger Tip Be Treated?

In my left pointer (finger next to the thumb) fingertip I burned with a hot glue gun last week on Monday and the skin turned white so I picked it off with tweezers and kept filling it with Vaseline and a band aid for a week up to Friday. Then since yesterday its been feeling like a little bit of a loss of feeling in that area and if I press on the part where its been healing (the burn mark) it hurts just a little. What is going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Involvement of nerve supplying the skin must have been compressed in forming the scar tissue... thus affecting it's function & making the area numb.
Regeneration of peripheral follows in few weeks- so please don't worry.. this will be a temporary symptom
Please keep the finger clean & dry/ avoid infection. Vitamin B12 supplements( take a pill of Neurobion daily )would help.
Thanks.
