How Can A Knee Injury Be Treated?

About 3 weeks ago I fell and injured my knee. I went to the general hospital where the x-rayed my knee. They said there was no break in the bone. They strapped my knee with a crepe bandage. They also said if the pain did not go away see a GP and get a referral to see a specialist. It takes about a year to see a specialist. The pain was unbearable so I decided to go to a private hospital. My knee was x-rayed again and again I was told again I was told there was no brakes. Nothing said about ligaments, nerves etc The pain is now really unbearable and I can t weight bear or sleep is impossible. What can I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per your history, as X-ray showed no fracture then it may be due to ligament injury which takes time to heal. Continue use of knee crepe bandage. You can take tablet Aceclofenac for pain after consultation. Apply ice over that. Do regular physiotherapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
