How Can Goitre Be Treated And Would This Need Thyroid Replacement Therapy?

i recently went to my doctor with multiple concerns. including hypoglycemia,irritabilty, extreem anxiety, ect. my doctor palpated my throat and said he felt a goiter. This was expeted as i have noticed my voice becoming more hoarse and i have have polups on my thyroid. The then sent me to get multiple blood test and said i needed a sono gram of my neck. How do they remove a goiter and does that mean ill be on thyroid replacement the rest of my life?

Thanks for consulting us.
The surgeon will remove majority of your gland leaving behind some healthy portion.In this way your symptoms of restlessness and anxiety will settle.You may need thyroxine later sometimes. very rarely,you may get voice change or decrease calcium.But please do get a thyroid scan and T4,TSH before test for your record. And a histopathology examination if there is cold nodule. Please do mention your age,gender and past medical history in future consultation.
