How Accurate Is An Hiv Test?

Hi doctor, i got my HIV test is nonreactive . They say : patient nonreactive for HIV antibody may be infected but have not yet seroconverted. If a nonreactive result seems inconsistent with the clinical setting, resubmit new specimen for retest in 1-3 months. I did this test a year almost 13 months after exposure. Do I need make another test? Is this test is accurate?

Hi.
you have gone through antibody test. It is non reactive. But you may be in window period in which antibodies are not developed yet again antigen. Window period is not fix at all.it dependsvon immune status and many more things. You just need to go through confirmatory hiv testing once. Go for p24 antigen or pcr. if it is negative that mean you are safe. If positive you are infected. Just go through it. It will clear all the doubts.
thanks for using health care magic.
