Hit On Knee, Bruise At The Spot, Indentation

Hello! My husband fell last night during a basketball game. The upper middle portion of his knee was the first part to hit. there is a bruise at the spot. now that all of the swelling has gone down, we felt his knee. there is an indentation where he landed. we could not find any chipped off pieces, but there is no bone where there once was. he is not in pain. what should we do?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Get an x ray done.
If it was a fracture there might be bone peices. Fracture is always painful and cause swelling. I dont think he is having fracture.
Consult orthopaedic surgeon because there might be hematoma in knee joint that has to be aspirated. Apply crepbandage and apply ice ove it.
Do not sitvon floor, do not climb stairs nor sit in squatting position.
If does not get relieve.
Get mri done.
Get well soon.
Thank you.
