History Of Skull Fracture. Stopped Wellbutrin For Depression Due To Migraine. Dizziness, Lethargy After Taking Immutrex

My husbandhas recently been weaned off of Wellbutrin 300 mgm. for depression, they were causing severe migraines which he had already suffered from. 15 years ago he sustained abasal skull fracture and the migraines started 6 months later. However, they have not been as severe as when he started taking the antidepressant. His doctor has prescibed Propoanol and Immutrex. Yesterday he took 2 Immutrex 4 -5 hours apart, and today has felt dizzy and lethargic all day, is this a side effect of it? His BP is 120/90.

Hi,

Based of the information provided your husband is having migraines and takes immutrex for it. Also he is taking propranolol as migraine prophylaxis, and he is feeling dizzy even though his BP is 120/90.

Here is what I think is going on - the common side effect for immutrex is dizziness and he is facing from the same problem, more over he should have not taken 2 dosages with in 4 hours span.

Here is what I advice you to do.

1) Ask him not to repeat the mistake of taking 2 doses so close to each other.
2) If he feels the need to take 2 doses, please drop the dose of propronlol for that day.
3) Current check his blood sugar level if possible, if not just give him some high sugar drink like juice / coke / pepsi.

4) If dizziness stays longer then 2 hours after taking the sugar drink contact you local doctor.
