Question: Hi last year in Oct I was hit in the head playing softball..I caught a line drive to my forehead..I didn't go to the hospital because I wasn't even close to my $8,000 deductible.. I had a ct scan 2 years previous for a concussion in a farming accident, they gave me a ct scan and told me I had a concussion blah blah blah no bright lights, tv ect then I got a XXXXXXX for $6,000.... So I didn't want to go to the hospital again for this accident..because I have a hsa insurance high deductible....so I figured I'd ride it out...it bruised my whole entire face on both sides.. one of my customers that worked in the ER suggested that I had a skull fracture..but again just was gonna ride it out agai,st her telling me to get it looked at..well here we are just over a year later I know I had a concussion and still feel the symptoms to this day..I still have soft tissue damage the swelling is still above my eyebrow, I get a headache every single day, I was mildly depressed even though I am a generally happy person, I can't stand any noises now, or bright lights I just woke up cause I thought I smelled burnt toast, my eyes wouldn't focus right and my head feels like I was on a tilt a whirl like my eyes were rolling around..could that be from when I got hit in the head over a year ago..I mean know the 2nd time I had a concussion was for real I was dizzy and got sick..it just a shame I couldn't swallow my pride and go to the damn hospital because of my crappy health insurance :/ I'm a 33 yr old woman never done drugs ever and I don't drink..so rule that out lol

Brief Answer:
can be from the concussion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,

Thank you for posting the query.

Hope this message finds you in good health.

From the history that you have mentioned it seems that the present complaints are as a result of the recent concussion that you have suffered. If untreated on emergency basis,it may leave some after-effects like the ones you have been having now.

There may be raised intracranial tension due to oedema around the brain that are leading to the present symptoms.

Even though the symptoms sound a bit scary, but still these are definitely reversible and curable.

You need to consult a neurologist and get the necessary investigations done, most probably an MRI of brain.

Depending upon the reports, you will be prescribed certain medicines that would reduce the oedema .

And yes, you seem to be pretty anxious and stressed out. Keep calm and relax. You would be fine in a few days.

Do let me know the reports once they are done.

I hope the answer was useful.

Thank you.

Kind regards...
